Terms of use

Short, because the product is simple: you practise on past examination questions, we keep your progress, and either of us can end that at any time. These terms are between you and Swathi Ganti, Visakhapatnam, India, who runs PrepKar.

1. What the service is

PrepKar is a practice tool for Indian competitive examinations. It offers questions from past papers, explanations, timed tests, adaptive practice, flashcards and a written coaching note, and it keeps a record of your work so the next set can be chosen for you. It is a study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for the Union Public Service Commission or any other examining body, and it makes no promise about your result.

2. The questions and where they come from

Questions are taken from publicly available past examination papers and government sources and are reproduced for practice. Explanations, classifications and coaching notes are written by us, with the help of language models and a checking process, and are provided for practice only. They can contain errors. Where a widely used answer key differs from the official key we say so on the question. If you find a mistake, tell us at support@prepkar.in with the exam, year and question number; corrections are made in the product, not in private replies.

3. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older to hold an account, and you confirm that when you create one.
  • An account is personal. One person, one account; do not share sign-in codes or passwords, and tell us if you think someone else has used yours.
  • You are responsible for the email address on the account: sign-in codes and account-deletion codes go there and nowhere else.
  • What we store and why is in the privacy notice, which is part of these terms.

4. Acceptable use

Use the service for your own preparation. Do not copy the question bank or explanations in bulk, resell or republish them, attack, probe or overload the service, use another person's account, or use the service to break any law. We may suspend or close an account that does any of these; where we can, we will say why.

5. Price

The service is free today and no payment is collected. If a paid plan is ever introduced it will be announced in the product before it starts, with its price, and nothing you already have will be taken away without notice. A "notify me" waitlist is not a purchase and creates no obligation on either side.

6. The AI Coach

The Coach's notes are generated by a language model from a digest of your practice record, as the privacy notice explains. They are an opinion about how to study, produced by software; they can be wrong, and they are not advice about any exam's rules, eligibility or strategy in a way you should rely on without checking. Report a note that is wrong or inappropriate to support@prepkar.in.

7. Availability and liability

The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it up and correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free content, or any examination outcome, and we are not liable for a loss that follows from relying on it — to the extent Indian law allows us to say so. Nothing here limits a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

8. Ending the agreement

You end it by deleting your account — from your profile while signed in, or at /account/delete from any browser without signing in. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. We end it by closing an account under section 4, or by shutting the service down, in which case we will give notice in the product and you will be able to export your data first.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that cannot be settled by talking to us is subject to the courts in India.

10. Changes

The version and date at the top change whenever these terms change materially, and we will tell you in the product before a change that affects you takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date is acceptance of the new version.
